On His Knees highlights the difference between humility and pride. It seems to be the tendency of human nature to admire certain traits in people such as beauty, education, sophistication, eloquence, talent, etc. More and more people are seeking celebrity status these days, and it’s become easier than ever with the internet. Now anyone can become world famous instantly! This video presents a stark contrast to that scenario…

About This Song:
I wrote this song after some famous “tel-evangelists” fell from grace. These people lived in luxury, wore expensive clothes and drove big fancy cars. They claimed to be spiritual guides, but they seemed more interested in making money.
As I reflected upon this phenomenon, I began to think about the person and character of Jesus Christ. Crowds of people followed him, but he wasn’t seeking fame and fortune. In fact, he often sought out places where he could be alone. He even told people not to say anything after he healed them. I wonder how people would respond to Jesus if he lived among us today.
Lyrics:
VERSE 1:
Would we recognize Him if He came to us today?
riding hum-b-ly upon a donkey
Would we bow before Him, or just turn and walk away?
blind because He wore the robes of poverty
CHORUS:
O-pen our eyes, help us see
Beyond our own darkness
O-pen our eyes, help us see
Jesus as He is!
BRIDGE:
He was born in a stable
And died between two thieves
The hungry ate at His table
He served them on His knees-
ON HIS KNEES!
VERSE 2:
Would we recognize Him if He came to us today?
a man of sorrows with no form of majesty
Would we bow before Him, or just turn and walk away?
blind because our hearts love only vanity
CHORUS:
O-pen our eyes, help us see
Beyond our own darkness
O-pen our eyes help us see
Jesus as He is!
BRIDGE:
He left His throne in heaven
took on the form of a man
shed His own blood for our pardon
from death He rose again-
HE ROSE AGAIN!
