I-IV-V Minor Chord Progressions:
In this lesson we will use 5 basic minor chords to play a I-IV-V minor chord progression in 5 different minor Keys.
- Play each minor I-IV-V chord progression until you can move easily between chords.
- Play It And Say It! Memorize the chord names.
- Play the chord progressions along with the video when you’re ready.
Remember when you’re playing a triad chord shape that you should focus on strumming only the strings you are fretting. In other words, you should only strum the first 3 strings when playing a Cm triad, but you should strum all 6 strings when playing the full G7 chord.
Keep your strokes short when playing triads. Strum all the way through when playing full chords. This will require a little extra discipline at first, but should become easier with practice and the exercise is beneficial for developing right hand (strum/pick hand) coordination skills.
