The four videos associated with your first lesson provide a basic overview of the guitar and how to tune it so that you’re ready to play. Click the arrow to start the short Welcome video. When it’s finished playing select the next video from the menu on the right side of the player.
Left click on any link below to open the file. After the file opens left click the download button in the upper right-hand corner of your screen and save it to your computer. This will allow you to print and use the information when your playing guitar.
- Memorize the parts of your guitar in case you ever need to repair or replace something that may become damaged or broken.
- Memorize the names and numbers associated with each string, as this is the foundation for everything else you will learn on guitar.
- Become familiar with tuning the guitar using the methods given in this lesson.
- Understand the difference between a dreadnought, classical and electric guitar.
Consider the style of music you would most like to learn how to play on guitar. Look for an opportunity to hold each of the 3 guitar types described in this lesson. Perhaps you can ask a friend who might play guitar or visit a guitar shop. This will allow you to feel and hear the differences for yourself.
